3. Application

4. Pre-Assessment
To help in your formal assessment, answer these questions about your past experience that will relate to the skills needed in starting a new church.
5. Formal Assessment
You and your wife will be asked to meet for a day long formal assessment.
6. Board Approval
After reading your application and references and hearing from the assessment team, the Home Missions Board will vote on your approval as a Home Missionary.
7. Orientation
You will meet at the Home Missions office to sign your contract, get instructions in raising support, and get started as a home missionary.
8. Support Raising
Each missionary is required to raise the support for their salary and money for start-up expenses.
9. Training and Transition
You will receive training on starting a new church. You will also be given assignments in planning your new work. When your support goal is raised, you will be allowed to move to the field and start your work.
10. Coach Assigned
A former or present church planter will be assigned as your coach to help you through the first year.
