Jeff and Sondra Cates are planting a Free Will Baptist church in Canyon, Texas. They are Joint Project Home Missionaries with the state of Texas and the Home Mission Board. He is a graduate of Free Will Baptist Bible College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral/Missions. Jeff held pastorates in Weslaco, TX and Ashland City, TN. The largest city in the Texas Panhandle is Amarillo located only twelve miles from the Canyon area where the new church is being established. The Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the US. This general area is also the home of the American Quarter Horse Association. The Cates hope to tap into all the resources available in the Canyon area to reach others for Christ.
