Chaplain, Maj Richard G. Anderson is a Free Will Baptist Chaplain, assigned to Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL. As a residential student at ACSC, Chaplain Anderson is currently enrolled in the Master of Military Operational Art and Science degree program. As a Free Will Baptist minister in uniform, Chaplain Anderson seeks to "Glorify God, Serve Airmen, and Pursue Excellence" in accordance with the teachings of the National Association of Free Will Baptists, Inc.
He holds a B.S. in Bible and Secondary Education from Free Will Baptist Bible College, a M.Div. with Biblical Languages (Hebrew and Greek) from Beeson Divinity School of Samford University, a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Pacific Western University, and a D.Min. specializing in Military Chaplaincy from Temple Baptist Seminary, the graduate division of Tennessee Temple University. Chaplain Anderson is a Tennessean who was ordained to the gospel ministry in June 1992. He has served as a pastor both in Tennessee and Alabama. He was commissioned as a military chaplain in August 1997.
Chaplain Anderson and his wife, Faith, have three children: Caroline Grace, who preceded them to heaven on June 5, 1999, Richard II ("Jack") born on August 18, 2000, and Jonathan Wesley born on July 3, 2002.
