Captain Walter Lee Frye Jr. was born 26 February 1973 in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN in 1998, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pastoral Training and Bible. He entered the Marine Corp Reserves in May 1991, and honorably served as a 0311 infantry Soldier and a 0151 personnel clerk until May of 1999. CPT Frye entered the full-time civilian pastorate in January 1999 to January 2010. On 21 June 2007 CPT Frye entered the Army National Guard as a Chaplain Candidate. On 8 June 2008 he attended the Chaplain Initial Military Training in Ft. Jackson, SC and finished on 3 July 2008. On 4 January 2009 CPT Frye attended the final phases (1-3) of Chaplain Basic Officer Leader Course in Ft. Jackson, SC and graduated on 3 April 2009. On 15 May 2009 He graduated from Luther Rice University and Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. CPT Frye deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 02 January 2010 to 05 January 2011. CPT Frye's military training includes: Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC (1991), Marine Corps Administration School, Camp Pendleton, SC (1991), Jungle Warfare Training at Fort Sherman, Panama (1993), Chaplain Basic Officer Leaders Course at US Army Chaplain Center and School at Ft. Jackson, SC (2009). On 2 January 2010 CPT Frye was deployed in support of OIF, and served as the post Chaplain at the Kuwaiti Naval Base, Kuwait. CPT Frye is presently serving in Fort Gordon, GA as the 442D Signal Battalion Chaplain. CPT Frye is married to Blair and has two children, Hayden (8) and Lily (6). He enjoys running, golfing, amusement parks, preaching, and spending time with his family. Awards include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy And Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal With Bronze Star, Global War On Terrorism Service Medial, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal With M Device, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
